Works in Progress
Below are a few of the books that I am currently working on. There are many more working titles that I keep stored in my cyber-vault for later use when I have time or an attack of writer's block. Writer's Block is something I have yet to suffer from, but a lack of time (or should I say time wasted on twitter, blogsites, research, and internet activity?) and energy has been a great deterrent in completing many of them.
While working on one novel, I will think of a great idea for another and quickly jot down some notes and file it in my ever-growing documents on my computer.
If my ship ever comes in and I am actually at the docks instead of the bus station, I will have enough material to keep me out of trouble until I am too old to write.
If anyone has any input, ideas, or suggestions on any of these works, please drop me note in the contact form or on my blog here. I would love some feedback on anything. Also, I plan to eventually create pages of samples of these works for interested readers.

Embraced by the Wind
Embraced by the Wind is written using my pen name, Herema Onar. It is completed and published. Albeit, it is out of print because I asked for my rights back from PublishAmerica. If you want a copy of this book, I have a closet full of them. Please send a message through the contact form of this website.
If you are interested in being published, do NOT under any circumstances use PublishAmerica. Although they issue a real publishing contract, which grants them your primary and secondary rights, they do nothing to better your book, provide no editing services, and will butcher your original manuscript with errors that are not in the original.
This book contains poetry and short stories written when I was still a greenhorn writer. I thought I was good. I was not. In the future, I hope to revise the book and even turn some of the short stories into full-grown novels or take advantage of Amazon’s offer to revise it and release it through CreateSpace on Amazon.
The only way to buy this book is supposedly through me, the author. However, for some reason Amazon still has copies of it listed on their site. PublishAmerica only paid me royalty on two books, which makes me wonder. If you want a copy of it without paying the $25 on Amazon, I can send an autographed copy for $10 plus $2.50 shipping. I will lose money on it, but they are taking up closet space and I would love to send them out.

The Land of Santan
The Land of Santan is now on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble in both e-book format and hard copy.
Santan is about two brothers who turn family violence into adventure, laughter, and overcoming. They become icons in the community for their kindness and laughter in the face of mishaps and troubles. They form a bond that is contagious and sometimes hilarious. The Santan Fortress is as enduring as it is endearing.

Encore 3 - The Stoneridge House
The Stoneridge House is the third book in the Encore series and is more than half completed. As soon as the novel is finished, I will post it on the front page of the site with links to where it can be found.
Encore is a series filled with suspense, mystery, and crime-solving teenagers who continue digging up long ago mysteries and help the police solve crimes in the small town of Wakefield.
Encore, and Encore 2 Willow Lake, are on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Encore 3 continues the investigating teens who continue to dig up bones in Wakefield.

Royally Exiled
Royally Exiled is about a young nursing school drop who finds herself unemployed, kicked out by her father, and walking with all her worldly possessions inside one small bag - all in a single day.
However, her life soon turns into something with more espionage, shooting, and running for her life than she could have ever imagined seeing in an action-adventure flick. Toss a little love into the mix, and you won't want to put this one down.
Last Living Heir
Three college students on spring break get an invitation to visit a great aunt in a far away country. While visiting, she teaches them about surviving in a world disconnected from modern society, easy living, and reality, but her greatest lesson for them was after her death while they visited.

Master of the Demons
Seeing strange images in her sleep begin to emerge into her waking moments driving her near insanity. Struggling to gain control, she calls these images her demons. Unwilling but challenged to help others with her gift, she eventually helps others. By helping, she gains mastery over her images, but more keep coming.
Normally, I do not indulge in the paranormal in any fashion. This book has been writing itself when I began recording nightmares that wake me up. The images are so real that they feel like memories. So, I have given them to a fictional character. Let them torment her instead. (smile)
It will be a while before this one is finished.

Miss Jasmine Rose
Miss Jasmine Rose is a charming story of adventure and mysterious travel to other places and times by a young girl who befriends the old woman living at the end of the road, and that most people refer to as a wicked witch. The magical relationship grows despite strange things that can only be explained by rumors being true.
Ashes to Music
Two boys grow up in a small town, one a brain, the other a rough-neck genius. His genius turns out to be inherited from distant relatives labeled as mad scientists.
When the book is available, it will be listed on my Homepage.
Corundum Empire (four book series)
The King of Crystal Mountain is the first novel in a four-book series, Corundum Empire. It is completed. The second book in the series, The Queen of Crystal Mountain, is also completed but needs to be copy-edited. I am hesitant in releasing the novels until I have all four completed to avoid any inconsistencies or bloopers. The last two novels in this series are: Penjara Fortress and Tramontane.
King Zircon does not want to be king, never did. He spends most of his youth trying to avoid the inevitable, being crowned king over the Zircon Kingdom. In his efforts to escape his duties, he journeys to Crystal Mountain with a tiny man, Tian Huang, who teaches the king why he must be king.
Of course all king and dwarf novels need dragons, old hags (witches), and mysterious events hardly understood. They are all within the Corundum Empire, including dastardly deeds of one mean villain.
This was my first novel ever written, shortly after Embraced by the Wind, which is short stories and poetry. I have dubbed this novel, My Mona Lisa, because I feel it may never be finished. I carry it around in my head and work on it from time to time. I won't release it until all four books of the series is completed and ready.

The Runaway
The Runaway is just that, a running away of my thoughts and musings on life, situations, events, the past, the future, or any other random ramblings I wish to write about. Although the picture here has Lucinda Bilya as the author, it may be changed to Helen Chadwick, because it is non-fiction.
During the many years of studying the publishing industry, learning, reading, and educating myself about becoming a writer, I played the Query-go-round, the Agent Lotto, and watched the news about the industry. One day, I was so frustrated about what I SHOULD do, that I pushed all works in progress aside and started writing with the help a glass of wine. Maybe I was celebrating something like rebellion against all the rules, the gramar police, and the wise and powerful MFA's. I wrote because I loved it. I wrote what I thought and what I felt. It was refreshing and I didn't need to ask anyone's permisso. This style of writing actually led to the changing or discovering of my writer's voice. That new voice is in Encore, where I even dared to break the fourth wall.
When this book is completed, please keep in mind that it is sassy, reflective, funny, and has a few confessions of how stupid I could get. We all have those moments where surely the word "stupid" is written on our foreheads, right?
