It is hard to believe another year has flown by and in just a few days, thousands around the world will be pounding away on their keyboards, sharpening their pencils, and setting everything else aside just to write the world's next best seller.
It is a dream for millions to write novels, memoirs, or their life's journey to share with the world. While some day dream about it, talk about it, and plot it all out, there are those who simply do it for whatever reason they feel driven towards accomplishing that writing goal.
It is not the thinkers, the dreamers, or the talkers who write books. Although NaNoWriMo is a group of writers, wannabe writers, and dreamers, writing is still the loneliest sport. It is a race we must run by ourselves, against ourselves, and strive beyond ourselves until we are no longer a hindrance to our race.
It is the DOERS who make it to the finish lines and it is the DOERS who go beyond the rough-draft finish line and into all the grueling re-writes and edits until our novels are polished and ready to set sail into our dreams-come-true.
I have chosen to write Encore 4, The Garden Club for my NaNoWriMo project this year. These books are so much fun to write; I am anxious to find out what my teenaged detectives dig up around the tiny town of Wakefield this time.
If you are entering the NaNoWriMo adventure this year, please share with me your title and ideas. If you are not, then consider jumping on board for the adventure of a lifetime and find out what you have inside you. You may be surprised at what November 30 will bring into your life.
Best of everything to all WriMos who brave it out another year.
